W.C. HELLER SECTIONAL CABINETS ARE PROBABLY THE EARLIEST COUNTRY STORE CABINETS FOUNDED IN MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY 1891.
THE COMPANY MOVED THE FACTORY TO MONTPELIER, OHIO IN 1906 AND IS STILL LOCATED ON THE SAME PROPERTY TODAY. THE LAST SECTIONAL CABINETS WERE PRODUCED BEFORE WORLD WAR II. CONSTRUCTION: THESE CABINETS ARE MADE OF AMERICAN OAK (SECONDARY WOOD - PINE & POPLAR) BASE & TOP. LIKE J. D. WARREN CABINETS, ANY TOP WILL FIT ANY BASE. THE DRAWERS ARE A COMBINATION OF WOOD AND METAL BECAUSE HELLER SOLD TO THE BULK GRAIN MARKET. MICE COULD NOT GET TO THE PRODUCTS THROUGH THE METAL. SOME "DEEP" TOPS FEATURED HELLER'S FIRST PATENTED PIVOT DISPLAY DOORS, PATENTED IN 1906, WHICH BROUGHT STOCK AND DISPLAY INTO VIEW AT THE SAME TIME. ACCORDING TO BOB HELLER, 4TH GENERATION, HELLER PURCHASED J.D. WARREN. |
